How did we come up with those?
The purpose of all creation is to worship God, the creator of the universe (Revelation 4:11; Romans 12:1), who became a man, came to earth and died so that we may live (John 10:10). Jesus has given us, as His children, a special purpose; which is to spread the Gospel and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). Liferoads believes that this is done by teaching and modeling the definitive truth of the Bible, (Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:1-3) wherever we are.
We are given a call to unity, (Ephesians 4:1-5) unity of the church, of God’s children; thus it is our responsibility to obey the Lord by leaving our comfort zone (James 1:2-3; Hebrews 12:1-12) and make an environment that is inviting and conducive to delivering the message of truth, in an effort to mature Christians and reach those who do not know Jesus. By receiving the Lord’s truth people will be set free (John 8:32) from the bondage of sin (Matthew 11:28-30) and experience the hope and assurance (Hebrews 11:1-3) of eternal life through their relationship with Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)
